Hello Everybody and welcome to the sneak preview of the 2010 vinylize collection. We just posted pictures of the 7 models available now. We think that most of them look great with both sun and optical lenses.
In the next few weeks we hope to release another 4, bringing the entire collection up to 11 models.
Quite a few of the shapes you may already be familiar with, as we remade some of our favorites: Bank, Chicago, Grappelli(now Holly), Don Giovanni and Pausz. There are also quite a few brand new shapes for the Vinylize collection: Jackson, Clark, as well as some that are not up yet: Sinatra, Piaf, Joplin and Anett.
A total of about 600 frames were produced in our little ateliers in Budapest and Pecs(now the culture capitol of Europe. http://en.pecs2010.hu/) Between 40 and 55 frames were produced per style, making this collection very limited. Each frame is branded with a serial number on the temple. We picked up an old numbering machine that was used to number checks in the USA…
We did the best to keep the grooves nice and crisp for you. This varies from model to model and frame to frame, depending on what record we used, which side it was cut from and also from what area of the record.
Something completely new is the use of rivet hinges, just like in the good old days… Since the frames are bigger and thicker, we opted for 5 barrel hinges. These should take most anything dished out to them.
We are also pressing a new 7″ single for the cases. This should be ready to ship by the end of January and of course our catalog will be included in it. Until then we will be using up our stock of “The Vilnius Connection”.
For opticians we ship them a bunch of these as well as 12″ vinyls of our pressing and they also get stands made from vinyl upon request.
The vinyl is finyl.
